Big Brother Australia 8: Daily Show #3 – Alliances begin to form

One of the biggest differences between the American version of Big Brother and it’s international counterparts is the way houseguests are eliminated from the Game. In the American version the houseguests vote for the person they want out of the game. While in the International versions the viewing public gets to vote for elimination. The American style of the game easily allows for the formation of alliances because people tend to flock to people they would normally hang out in the real world. They are allowed to openly discuss their targets and such. Alliances can also form in the international version.

On Tonight’s Daily Show the house began to divide into seperate cliques. On one side are the Boys – minus Travis. They call themselves the Spa Mafia because they meet throughout the day in the hot tub to discuss the day’s agenda. The Spa Mafia include Nobbi, Rory, Saxon, David, and Ben. Among other things, thier topics of discussion always end up singling out Travis because physically he’s not like them.

At the dinner discussion Saxon, the UFO believer, came out and said that in the real world he’s “a real bastard.” He continued by saying that he was really racists and sexist before coming into the Big Brother house. If he met Travis in a pub he would laugh in his face and leave. He would not talk to Nobbi at all because he’s not Australian. Saxon said he came into the Big Brother to change his ways.

Also Happening in the House:

- When Bridget brushes her teeth she likes to put the toothbrush up her nose for a couple of iches.

- David, the former cult member, doesn’t like the Australian National Anthem because “it has no emotion.”

- Renee, the tom-boy, teaches Travis how to tackle someone in Rugby.

- Nobbi created an imaginary friend, whom he refers to as Terri,  to talk to during dinner.
