Register your Name.
* First of all, choose a nickname and a password. Then type in /nick .

* Now register the nickname witth with NickServ. NickServ is a bot that helps with these sorts of things. Just type /msg NickServ register , where is the password you want to use.

* You’ll probably want to be able to log in again with that nickname later. Just connect, change nickname to the nickname you registered with /nick and type in /msg nickserv identify . You can also add that nick and password to the “My Channels” list to be auto-identified (only if you are logged into the non embedded version).

* If you get on the server (after registering) and someone else has taken your name: type in /msg NickServ GHOST to kick the user from your nickname. Then type /nick to change your nick back
